Here is a demonstration of a brush revetment to help stabilize a collapsing streambank. This technique allows the landowner to restore the eroding streambank through bio-engineering, which eliminates the use of traditional land disturbing fixes. The revetment will trap sediment over time allowing vegetation to come in and stabilize the bank. The landowner has created a riparian buffer of native hardwoods to restore the natural areas around the stream. One can also see how wildlife, such as beavers, birds, and fish use the trees as habitat. Employees of The Nature Conservancy look over the project area.
