The Alliance partners are working on a number of issues to achieve their goals in the watershed. Industrial and commercial water users need a steady supply of clean water to sustain local jobs. Eighty percent of the nations carpets are produced in this watershed, 45% of the worlds carpet. Agriculture businesses need to be able to maintain and use productive lands while meeting environmental regulations. National Forests are managed to restore ecosystems and protect watershed conditions while providing use of the public lands and waters. Conservation organizations are involved in an effort to promote the survival of many rare aquatic fauna, some of which are listed as threatened or endangered. Some of the specific resource issues involved in this watershed are described here.
As you roll over one of these resource issues you will see locations throughout the watershed.
