The Conasauga watershed is host to the largest carpet industry in the world. The Conasauga River is the main source of water for the dying process of carpet. The industry uses roughly 40 million gallons of water daily for these processes. The Conasauga is and will remain to be a much needed resource for the community. From recreation, drinking water, agriculture, and the carpet industry, a fine balance has to be achieved to create conservation throughout the watershed while supporting the needs of the community. By working cooperatively with stakeholders the watersheds conservation needs as well as the peoples needs are being addressed. |
